Expecting Miracles

Every morning, I do something that I call my "morning practice".

I start by de-cluttering my workdesk and turning on my computer. Then I do my "Daily Target Praxis". (If you want to try this, go to simpleology.com and sign up for simpleology101. It's totally free.) In my Daily Target Praxis, I plan my activities for the day, and I convert them to my google calendar if need be.

Once I have my day planned I sit for a minute and I make a list of at least 5 things that I am grateful for today.

Then I create an intention or a possibility for the day. (Today's possibility is Expansion.)

I have a list of Wayne Dyer's "Seven Faces of Intention" posted on my office wall. These are the possibilities that Dr. Dyer has identified as the faces of intention. These are some of the attributes or intentions of God (or Source, or Spirit).

I'll list them here, in case you haven't seen or heard them:

  1. Creativity
  2. Kindness
  3. Love
  4. Beauty
  5. Expansion
  6. Abundance
  7. Receptivity

I almost always choose one of these as my intention or possibility for my day. It helps to keep me connected to Source.

After I choose an intention for the day, I do a meditation. Either I'll just sit quietly, or I have a bunch of guided meditations that are recorded on my computer.

The one that I listened to today was by Joe Vitale. It was a manifestation meditation. And something that he said at the very end of the meditation prompted me to post this blog.

He said, "Enjoy your day, and expect miracles!"

When I heard that, I realized that I haven't been expecting miracles. I've been expecting dissapointment. (And that's what I've been getting.)

See, I believe that we almost always get exactly what we expect. Dr. Vitale expects miracles, and he gets them. All the time.

I expect dissapointment, and what do you know... there it is again.

So, today, my intention is Expansion, and I am expecting miracles!

Thanks for letting me ramble.

This is fantastic. Creating the space for your day to arise has you have that for which you have created space.

Completing your day has the same effect.

Each morning my wife and I read a passage from a book of daily wisdom and get present to what the passage means to us. We then create a possibility for the day from the passage. At the end of the day we celebrate what was create from that possibility.

Keep up the good work Josh!

Thanks Dr. Was,

You know, I read about a study that found that how you spend the first 45 minutes of your day, dictates how the rest of your day will go.

I used to spend the first 45 minutes hitting my snooze button and dreading going to work... You can imagine what MY days looked like.

Now I wake up, come into my office and intentionally create my day. It's amazing how much I get done and how much energy I have since I started doing that.

Thanks for the comment.

I agree with everything you both have said. For me right now as a mom, my creation happens when I roll over and wake up next to my 2 kids. It immediately puts me in a state of graditude. I wake up so grateful for my whole family that I go about my day in a state of service.
