Herbs for Newborn's Tummy
This is one of the reasons why I love Bio-Kinetic Testing.
My six week old has been throwing up half of her milk for the last couple of weeks. This has been very frustrating for us, because she isn't gaining weight the way she should be.
We tried changing to an organic formula. (We have been supplementing her breast feedings because she hasn't been gaining enough weight.) We have tried keeping her propped up so she isn't laying flat.
And these tactics seemed to help for a while, but then last night she threw up twice in a row, despite everything we have been trying.
It was even suggested that we take her to the doctor to get a prescription for her.
So today it finally occurred to me to use Bio-Kinetic Testing.
I tested her, and it turns out that she has yeast in her stomach.
No wonder she's so gassy and pukey!
I tested to see if there was a natural herb that I could safely use on her to get rid of the yeast, and I came up with Chamomile.
Just to be on the safe side, I had Josh do a quick google search to make sure there was no warnings against using it with infants. It turns out that people have been using Chamomile on babies for centuries to help with Cholic with no problems.
So, I'm off to get some loose Chamomile at the health food store. I'll make a tea and add a little to her next formula supplementation and let you know how it goes.

Just wanted to update you guys on Beth's quest to get the yeast out of the baby's system.
First off, Beth also tested herself for yeast and found that she was chalk full of it. No wonder the baby has yeast. So she is now on a yeast free diet and using herbs to cleanse herself.
As you know, she has been using Chamomile tea in the baby's formula for the last couple of days, and that has helped some, but it isn't working fast enough. She finally called our midwife Colleen to get her advice. Colleen told her that the Chamomile is good, but it works too slowly. She suggested we try Baby-dophilus. (Some sort of probiotic formula that is specifically designed for babies.) It is supposed to work really well for eliminating yeast, fast.
Beth is at the health food store right now picking some up. We'll let you know how it works for us.
So it's a few days later and the transformation with the baby is amazing. Her tummy is feeling better thanks to the chamomile and probiotics and she hasn't thrown up since we started her on it.
Something you can do with Bio-Kinetic Testing is to test on a scale of severity from 1 to 10, 1 being the least severe, 10 being the most. When we started out we were both testing at a very high level 9 with yeast. Now with the herbs I'm down to a 7 and the baby's down to a 4.
The baby has gained almost a whole pound since we started the herbs. Thank goodness!
It's very exciting for me since the whole weight gain issue has been very stressful and frustrating. It looks like this is the light at the end of the tunnel.
Well it just goes to show you how important it is to stick to a yeast-free diet while cleansing from yeast.
I decided to take a day off yesterday: I ate bread, cheese, and corn. Big mistake.
My yeast level went from a 5 to a 6 and the baby's jumped from a 2 to a 5!
She's been throwing up again today and I can tell she's uncomfortable.
So we're almost back to ground zero. Pretty frustrating, but a good lesson on the importance of the diet in addition to taking herbs.
I'll keep you posted of course.
Oh I hope things are going well and you are all getting the yeast out. My sister lived on organic brown rice and veggies for quite a while when one of her babies was born because they both had thrush so bad. Diet and herbs and for sure help the problem. I have seen it work many times! Isn't it cool that you could test and figure it out and not have near the guess work. I'm so excited to be learning about Bio-Kinetic testing to go along with my knowledge of diet and herbs!
Thanks for your comment Tammie.
The baby's yeast is at a 1 now. Mine's at a 4. Her's won't go away completely until mine does obviously. The problem is that just when the yeast gets down around a 2 or 3 my willpower wanes and I have a peanut butter sandwich or a slice of Christmas pecan pie. I sometimes feel like a bad mom but I just have to remind myself that I really am doing the best I can.
The herbs and bifidophilus are really helping. It's been 2 weeks so I am going to retest us today or tomorrow to see if our herbal regimine has changed.
I am so thankful for this knowledge. Without it the baby would probably be on a prescription medication and still not gaining weight. As it is she is on all natural herbs which I know are causing her no harm and she's gaining a ton of weight.
The story continues...
